With just two weeks left before the local elections, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday criticised opposition representatives for traveling abroad instead of focusing on domestic matters.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze accused the opposition of serving foreign interests.
“When we say they serve foreign interests, they act surprised. With two weeks left before the elections, some are in America, some in Brussels, some in Berlin. You can judge for yourself whose interests these people are pursuing and whose support they rely on”, the PM said.
The Prime Minister further argued that the opposition was disconnected from citizens and was relying on external backers.
“When you are focused not on your own citizens, your own people, but on some official in a certain office in a certain capital, you will inevitably lose every election and every street”, Kobakhidze concluded.
