Georgian PM: opposition fails because it lacks public support

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday said the domestic opposition was unable to win elections or stage revolutions for one simple reason - the lack of public support.
Speaking to journalists, Kobakhidze emphasised that no political force can carry out a revolutionary scenario without backing from the people.
“What the opposition lacks most is public support. If people don’t support you, naturally you cannot implement any revolutionary scenario. They cannot win elections, nor can they organize revolutions, for the simple reason that the people do not stand with them”, the PM said.
He added that it was impossible for the public to support what he called the “collective United National Movement” or “collective agents”, underscoring that the opposition’s persistent failure both at the ballot box and in the streets was rooted in this deficit of popular backing.
