Iago Khvichia, the leader of the opposition Girchi party, on Thursday said that opposition activists appear to be supporting the perpetrator of Charlie Kirk’s murder.
Khvichia expressed his confusion over their motives, questioning whether their actions are orchestrated or simply “idiocy”.
“A monstrous evil has occurred”, Khvichia said. “An innocent person was killed for expressing his opinion when an argument could not be used against it”.
He added that the tragedy was exacerbated on a local level by the actions of those who present themselves as the opposition.
The politician believes they should be striving to gain or maintain a moral high ground against the Government but are instead squandering it.
“From today's perspective, it appears that opposition activists are supporting and encouraging the perpetrator of this horrific crime, while the Georgian Dream comes across as a defender of conservative values and human life. I can't understand the actions we are witnessing right now. Are they being orchestrated by the Georgian Dream, with a large part of the opposition activists doing this on their behalf, or are they just idiots?” - he concluded.
