Georgian PM calls German Ambassador “tragic figure”

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday said the German Ambassador Peter Fischer was in such a “tragic situation” that his expulsion would be a “gift”.

In his remarks, Kobakhidze noted that Fischer’s position on the domestic developments was already tragic.

“Defending Fischer is itself a tragic act. I don’t want to make any special comments on this. He is such a tragic figure that expulsion would be a gift for him. When you are [Mamuka] Khazaradze’s tenant, what could be more tragic?” Kobakhidze stated.
