Imedi TV on Tuesday reported that eight substitute MPs from Giorgi Gakharia’s For Georgia party, whose mandates had previously been suspended, have formally appealed to the Speaker of Parliament to act in line with procedures defined by law.
The letters show that the opposition For Georgia party has ended its boycott following the 2024 parliamentary elections.
The party has also submitted official documents to the legislative body, including annexes confirming that they have ceased activities deemed incompatible with the status of a Member of Parliament.
Last week, the legislative body recognised the credentials of 12 members of For Georgia party, eight of whom have already addressed the Parliament with a letter.
