Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Sunday met with residents of the Samgori district in the capital city of Tbilisi as part of his pre-election campaign, reaffirming his commitment to safeguarding Georgia’s interests and sovereignty.
In his remarks, Kaladze outlined ongoing and future projects for the capital city and presented his action plan, emphasising that the ruling party was the only political force truly accountable to its voters.
“You know well that we have never severed our connection with citizens, as we feel an immense responsibility toward the voters who entrusted us with the fate of the country and the city. That is why we started the pre-election campaign early, so we could reach everyone, convey our message, share our future plans, and listen to you”, the Mayor said.
He further addressed the ongoing political tensions, saying, “everyone can see the constant upheavals and artificially created tensions under which we have to live. What the Georgian Dream has been openly and loudly talking about for the past few years has now become clear to the world. Rest assured, not a single step will be taken to the detriment of Georgia and its people’s interests. This country belongs to us, to every citizen of Georgia, and we will not allow anyone to rule or enslave us”.
Kaladze concluded by highlighting the sacrifices of the ancestors.
“Our heroic ancestors did not fight for this. They earned independence with their blood. It is our duty to protect the country’s sovereignty, our identity, faith, and culture. Your support and our unity give us the foundation for this”, he concluded.
