Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday emphasised his Government’s commitment to transparency, stating that every decision made over the past two years has been openly accessible to the public.
“Since February 8, 2024, every act has been posted on our website. Every single one of our decisions is open, transparent, and accessible for anyone to observe”, Kobakhidze said.
The Prime Minister highlighted that thousands of Government acts had been published without any reported issues of arbitrariness or corruption.
“Thousands and tens of thousands of acts have been issued by the Georgian Government over the past two years. If anyone sees any arbitrariness, signs of corruption, or anything else in any of these acts, they can take an interest and contact us. For two years, the Government’s activities have been completely transparent, every act is transparent, and not a single issue of this kind has been raised. Why? Because, in addition to working transparently, we also work cleanly”, he noted.
In contrast, he accused domestic non-governmental organisations of lacking transparency and serving foreign interests rather than Georgia’s national priorities.
“As for non-governmental organisations, they were and remain non-transparent precisely because they did not work cleanly. They do not serve our country’s national interests; they serve the interests of foreign states, foreign governments, and sometimes even special services, which is alarming and regrettable”, he concluded.
