Any actions that go beyond the boundaries of the law will be met with an adequate, strict, and fair response from the state, said David Matikashvili, the Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules.
The ruling Georgian Dream party MP was responding to a report by Imedi TV that a training was being conducted near the Kaprovani coastline with the theme of government overthrow.
Matikashvili described the event as anti-state in nature.
“They will clearly not achieve their goals, and every resource used by radicals - whether coming from inside the country or from abroad - is naturally directed against the state”, the Parliament official said.
“If any protest takes place within the framework of the law, Georgia is a democratic country and that is understandable. But as soon as these actions cross the line of legality, the state will respond in an adequate, strict, and fair manner to any such manifestation”, he concluded.
