David Matikashvili, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules, on Thursday stressed that any attempt to break the law would be met with a strict response from the Government.
Matikashvili’s response followed a social media message of Khabeishvili, who said that if a politician refused to participate in the elections organised by an illegitimate Government, then the second way was a peaceful coup, as there was no third way.
“We all know that Khabeishvili is not capable of much, but if anyone attempts to violate the law or act against the constitution, the state’s reaction will be immediate, strict, fair, and legally sound. Everyone must understand that Georgia is a democratic and legal state, and all political processes will take place strictly within the framework of the constitution and the law”, the Parliament official said.
