Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday announced an ambitious plan to implement fundamental reforms in the country’s higher education system.
Speaking at the inauguration of a new academic building at Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State University, Kobakhidze said that his Government was currently developing a comprehensive concept that would soon be presented to the public.
"One of our top priorities will be the continuous and large-scale development of regional universities. Accordingly, this university will also see many innovations in the coming years. I am confident that Zugdidi University, with its new infrastructure, will continue to make a significant contribution to educating a highly qualified new generation in our country”, the PM said.
“This university has a unique role in achieving our common goal - reunification. I wish for this university, in a united Georgia, to play a very important role in raising our future generations”, he concluded.
