Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said that Georgia was a frontrunner in the region and among EU candidate countries.
In response to a question about the Good Governance 2025 Report, Kobakhidze noted that Georgia was surpassing a number of EU member states in multiple parameters.
"According to all objective assessments, Georgia is a frontrunner not only in our region, not only among [EU] candidate countries - Georgia is ahead of several EU member states. It ranks in the top twenty across almost all parameters on a European scale. This means that we are ahead of around ten EU countries by various indicators”, the PM said.
“This is an objective assessment. Everything else is political speculation, political games, which are unacceptable to us. For us, it is important that the European Union is associated with justice, objectivity, truth, and honesty. Unfortunately, the current situation is different due to the wrongful actions of the European bureaucracy. I hope that the European bureaucracy will change its stance and act differently in the future”, he concluded.
