Georgian officials are welcoming the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, with Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, highlighting Georgia's willingness to help facilitate such a deal.
In his remarks, Kaladze stressed the critical importance of maintaining peace in the region, especially given the current global tensions.
“We welcome the agreement that was signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We have repeatedly made statements regarding the fact that Georgia could also have been used to achieve this agreement, and from our side, several proposals were made”, the official said.
“Today, the role of maintaining peace in the region is greater than ever. There is a very difficult situation in the Middle East and the world in general, and therefore, today we need peace the most because peace brings development, progress, and economic prosperity”, he concluded.
