Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Tuesday emphasised the critical role of the upcoming local self-government elections scheduled for October 4, stating that they impact every municipality, district, and village across the country.
In his remarks, Kaladze noted that the ruling party had already started preparations and would soon unveil a comprehensive plan outlining projects for the next four years.
“Preparations for the elections started a long time ago. Local self-government elections are very important, as they relate to every city, district, village, and specific families. Over the past years, a lot of good work has been done. I could talk endlessly about the projects implemented in Tbilisi, but, of course, there are still many problems and challenges”, he said.
“We are fully prepared to present our vision and plan to the public, outlining what needs to be done in the next four years and how the country, cities, and villages should change for the better, with even more interesting and important projects being implemented”, Kaladze continued.
The Mayor also extended his best wishes to all candidates participating in the elections but stressed that the Georgian Dream party remains focused on protecting Georgia’s statehood and the interests of its citizens.
“Maintaining peace is one of the most important issues for us and our country. At the same time, it is necessary to develop the country and bring more benefits to cities and our villages”, he concluded.
