David Matikashvili, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules, on Sunday praised the decision by S&P Global Ratings to maintain Georgia’s sovereign credit rating at BB with a stable outlook.
In his remarks, Matikashvili attributed this achievement to the country’s sustainable development, economic progress, and peaceful policies under the Georgian Dream Government.
“Thanks to our country’s sustainable development, economic progress, and peaceful policy, we are moving toward the desired results, and this is reflected in the ratings published by competent international organisations”, Matikashvili said.
The official emphasised that the Georgian Dream Government’s strategic approach had driven Georgia’s development, contributing to the positive assessment by S&P Global Ratings.
“Initial assumptions, which implied a relatively lower rating, were raised by certain international institutions, which directly indicates the correct economic and fiscal policies pursued by the Georgian Dream Government for the country’s development and economic progress”, he concluded.
International rating agency S&P Global Ratings has affirmed Georgia's sovereign credit rating at BB with a “stable” outlook, reported the National Bank of Georgia, highlighting the country's prudent economic management.
