Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili has asserted that the ruling Georgian Dream party is “the only government in the history of independent Georgia under whose tenure no war has taken place”.
Speaking to the Spanish El MUNDO, Botchorishvili said the absence of armed conflict since the party came to power in 2012 has allowed the administration “to focus entirely on the country’s development”.
“We are very proud of that. The memories of the August 2008 war are still vivid, so we fully understand the price of peace”, the Minister said.
