Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday expressed unwavering confidence in the ruling Georgian Dream party’s goal to secure victories in both mayoral and council elections across all 64 municipalities in the upcoming local self-government elections.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze emphasised the party’s determination to achieve this target.
“Our goal is simple - to win the mayoral and council elections in all 64 municipalities, and we will definitely achieve this”, the PM said.
Commenting on the opposition, Kobakhidze suggested their primary aim was likely limited to forming factions in municipal councils.
“As for the opposition, their real goal is probably to form factions in the councils, and they may succeed in doing so in many places, but that’s it. In reality, we plan to win both the mayoral and council elections in all 64 municipalities. Regarding Tbilisi, I am confident that Kakha Kaladze will win the election in the first round. The rest is the opposition’s business”, he concluded.
