Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Sunday expressed strong confidence in Kakha Kaladze’s re-election as Tbilisi Mayor, predicting a first-round victory with over 60 percent of the vote in the upcoming local elections.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze highlighted Kaladze’s strong public support, as indicated by polls, and outlined ambitious goals for the upcoming local self-government elections.
“In every case, Kakha Kaladze will win the Tbilisi mayoral election in the first round, and moreover, given how the processes are unfolding now, I believe a result above 60 percent is absolutely realistic for Kakha Kaladze. The rest will be determined by the will of the people, although all polls show that the people’s sympathies lie with Kakha Kaladze”, the PM said.
He also set a broader goal for the ruling Georgian Dream party, aiming to secure victories in both mayoral and council elections across all 64 municipalities in Georgia.
“You know what my goal is: we want to win both the mayoral and council elections in all 64 municipalities, and this is as realistic as it gets. I am confident that we will win both the mayoral and council elections in all 64 municipalities”, he concluded.
