Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday accused the radical opposition of systematically attempting to undermine state institutions, describing such efforts as a hallmark of their strategy driven by external influences.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze emphasised the resilience of public confidence in state institutions, asserting that the opposition’s campaigns had proven ineffective.
“All of this is driven by external assignments, but there are sociological studies that confirm that the approval rating of every single state institution exceeds 50 percent. The majority of the population strongly trusts state institutions, and the confidence in the Central Election Commission significantly surpasses 60 percent. This is the current reality. All of this confirms that the opposition’s campaigns have no effect. This is foreign agency”, Kobakhidze said.
The PM highlighted campaigns targeting law enforcement agencies and the Central Election Commission (CEC) as part of a broader agenda.
“The foreign agent network has one mission: to try to discredit state institutions in our country, including the CEC. Just as these attempts were unsuccessful in the past, they will be in the future as well”, he concluded.
