Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Saturday expressed unwavering confidence in the ruling Georgian Dream party’s ability to secure victory in both mayoral and council elections across all 64 municipalities in the upcoming local self-government elections.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze dismissed concerns about the opposition’s preparations, focusing instead on the ruling party’s strategy.
“With two months left until the elections, the opposition has not even finalised a candidate for Tbilisi’s mayor. The candidates being discussed indicate that the opposition is struggling significantly. That is their business. We are not interested in how the opposition is preparing for these elections. What matters to us is how we are preparing”, thePM said.
He further emphasised the ruling party’s proactive approach, stating that “we are preparing very actively. We have one goal - to win both the mayoral and council elections in all 64 municipalities, and we are absolutely confident that we will win in all 64 municipalities in both directions”.
