Anri Okhanashvili, the Head of the State Security Service, on Friday underscored the critical role of peace and stability in fostering the country’s development amid an unpredictable and ever-changing security environment.
Speaking at an event marking the 10th anniversary of the Service’s establishment, Okhanashvili highlighted the Service’s mission to ensure a safe environment for Georgia’s citizens.
“The security environment surrounding Georgia is unpredictable and constantly changing. In this situation, peace and stability are essential prerequisites for the state’s development. The task of Georgia’s State Security Service is to ensure that Georgia’s citizens live in a safe environment”, Okhanashvili said.
He praised the dedication of the State Security Service employees, who work tirelessly, often at great personal risk.
“Our dignified employees work around the clock, serving to strengthen our country’s sovereignty at the risk of their lives and health. It is a great honour for me to stand side by side with these people in service to our country”, he noted.
Okhanashvili also paid tribute to fallen officers, stating, “I bow my head in memory of the officers who lost their lives in the line of duty”.
