Media reports: German Ambassador to Georgia allegedly rents apartment from opposition Lelo party leader’s spouse in Tbilisi

Georgian media on Friday reported that Peter Fischer, Germany’s Ambassador to Georgia, was allegedly renting an apartment from Irina Khazaradze, the spouse of Mamuka Khazaradze, the leader of the opposition Lelo party.

The flat in question is a 300-square-meter apartment on Kavlashvili Street in the capital city of Tbilisi.

It remains unclear whether a formal lease agreement has been signed and whether the Khazaradze family is declaring the income and paying the appropriate taxes.

Imedi TV contacted both Irina Khazaradze and Fischer to clarify the details.
