Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Executive Secretary of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Thursday accused the opposition United National Movement party figures of serving foreign interests rather than the Georgian state.
In his remarks, Mdinaradze noted that being a ‘Natsi’ - a colloquial term referring to members or supporters of the United National Movement party - meant engaging in agent-like activity carried out against one's own state.
“The key difference is that we serve our state, while they serve their foreign patrons and sponsors”, the ruling party official stressed.
He further emphasised that beyond the opposition’s lack of political prospects, the more pressing issue lies in their submissive role to external actors.
“Their patrons believe that the United National Movement party supporters are so discredited that they have zero chance - maybe a one percent chance if someone hypothetically assumes that it's possible to revive them. If there's a theoretical possibility that certain parties might not be associated with them, those are the ones allowed to participate. But how can a party that's in coalition with Gakharia's party possibly distance itself from the United National Movement party supporters?” Mdinaradze said.
