Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament, on Wednesday strongly denounced recent statements from the European Parliament that described Georgia’s October 26 parliamentary elections as “rigged”.
Samkharadze labeled these assertions a “very brutal attack on Georgian institutions”.
In his remarks, the official stressed that anyone making such statements must prove the validity of these allegations, otherwise they would have to apologise.
“This is a very brutal attack on Georgian institutions. Anyone who makes such an accusation against any Georgian state institution should prove this accusation, otherwise they will have to apologise”, Samkharadze said.
