Gia Volski, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and the First Vice Speaker of the Parliament, on Wednesday accused the European Parliament of spreading falsehoods at a level that warrants inclusion in textbooks as an example of how the deep state manipulates global affairs.
In his remarks, Volski criticised the European Parliament’s recent statements labelling Georgia’s the October 26 parliamentary elections as “rigged”.
“Of course, they won’t back down from lies. The level of lies shown by the European Parliament should be included in textbooks on how the deep state manipulates the situation worldwide. How they try to drag small countries, including Georgia, into the misfortune they have stirred up in the heart of Europe”, Volski noted.
Georgia’s Central Election Commission on Wednesday voiced strong concern regarding recent statements made in the name of the European Parliament that refer to the October 26 parliamentary elections as “rigged”.
The election administration asserted that such claims were “unsubstantiated” and were undermining fundamental legal principles.
