Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Monday said the results of the GORBI public opinion poll were the Georgian people’s response to those who preferred serving foreign interests over serving their country, waving foreign flags over defending national interests, and promoting hatred and violence over love.
In a social media message, Papuashvili highlighted that support for the ruling Georgian Dream party had grown since the historic results of the parliamentary elections.
“63 percent of voters express trust in the electoral process, while 56.2 percent support Georgian Dream”, he noted.
“The Georgian people want peace, not war; progress, not destruction; national unity, not division. They want to act in line with national interests, not serve as puppets in the hysteria of a chaotic world”, the Speaker concluded.
According to the poll, Georgian Dream enjoys 56.2% support among likely voters, while 63% of respondents expressed trust in the electoral process.
The GORBI survey, commissioned by TV company Imedi, reflects a political climate in which the ruling party continues to enjoy significant support. The data was collected through face-to-face interviews across Georgia and involved a representative sample of 2,300 adults.
