Levan Machavariani, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and Deputy Chair of the parliamentary faction of the ruling party, on Wednesday said that the “external bosses” had not yet finalised their plans regarding the domestic radical opposition.
In his remarks, Machavariani expressed confidence that the ruling party would win a decisive victory in all municipalities in the upcoming local elections.
“It's becoming clear that they are focusing more on Gakharia's party and Khazaradze's party, since the United National Movement has become such a disgrace as a brand that they [external forces] realised they can no longer bet on it. The Ahali party also failed to present itself to our public as a truly independent political force. Trust in them will be extremely low. Compared to previous elections, their ratings have dropped dramatically”, the official said.
“Regardless of what kind of configuration is ultimately dictated by the external bosses, the Georgian Dream is ready for everything and will defeat them by a wide margin in all 64 municipalities”, Machavariani concluded.
