Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday condemned what he called the “absolutely shameful act” of blackmailing the Georgian people for not returning a “bloody regime” to power, in reference to the collective United National Movement opposition.
“You cannot demand the Georgian people to first bring back a bloody regime to power, and then when they make a different decision, blackmail them for it”, the Prime Minister stated.
Kobakhidze urged the public to consider the motives behind specific officials, “including European officials”, desiring the return of the “creators of a bloody regime, the collective United National Movement, to power”.
He emphasised that the Georgian public “sees and analyses this very well”, attributing a “serious decline” in trust towards the “European bureaucracy and, unfortunately, also the European Union” among Georgian society to these actions.
“Everything must be done to reverse this process. For this, first and foremost, specific European officials must stop thinking about bringing the creators of a bloody regime back to power in Georgia”, he concluded.
