Imedi TV on Friday reported that Elene Khoshtaria, a leader of the opposition Droa party, had received a significant increase in financial support from Russia.
As reported, her family received a new financial transfer from Russia.
On the evening of the previous day, 1,200,433 Russian rubles - equivalent to approximately 15,047 US dollars at the current exchange rate - were deposited into the account of Gogi Khoshtaria.
Despite repeated attempts, Khoshtaria’s family did not respond to Imedi TV's phone calls for comment.
In 2022, Khoshtaria confirmed transfers of funds from Russia to the account of her family member, and said the money involved royalties from a Russian theatre as her father was the successor of Soliko Virsaladze, a famed Georgian scenographer who produced set and costume designs in theatres, including venues based in Russia.
