Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Monday said the Georgian Government was fighting for the country to be called a state and to have its statehood.
Botchorishvili lamented that, unfortunately, “the fight against the Georgian state is happening precisely at the hands of our own citizens”.
She linked this to current movements in Georgia that she claims show a disregard for state institutions, democratic processes, and elections.
“This is what we are dealing with when we see the movements that exist in Georgia - the non-recognition of state institutions, the non-recognition of democratic processes, elections, and so on. All of this is directed against the Georgian state”, the Foreign Minister said.
