Georgia’s ruling party Sec Gen says preserving peace key to prosperity, development

Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Monday said that maintaining peace was the cornerstone of the Georgian Government's policy, which he believes will lead to economic development and prosperity through sound governance.

In his remarks, Kaladze noted it was impossible to talk about any kind of success - whether it's the development of the country or economic progress - without peace.

“This is a crucial direction for the country to develop economically and move forward. When we talk about various important projects, investments, and economic growth, all of this is simply unimaginable in the current situation without the pragmatic policy that the Georgian Dream party is implementing”, Kaladze said.

He highlighted the importance of stability in the current global and regional climate.

“We know what's happening in the world, in the region. Without peace, it's impossible to talk about any success - whether it's the country's development or economic progress. Accordingly, the starting point is maintaining peace, which, with the right steps, will be followed by economic development and prosperity”, he concluded.
