Maia Bitadze, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Environment Protection and Natural Resources Committee, on Sunday outlined the strategic focus areas for the Georgian delegation at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s annual session in Porto.
In her remarks, Bitadze emphasised the importance of setting Georgia’s narrative amid geopolitical challenges.
“The occupied territories, economic development, institutional strengthening and democratic institutions, energy security, the Black Sea security, and Georgia’s economic and peaceful development on the backdrop of the fragile security architecture in the region – these will be the main messages the [Georgian] delegation will address, both in bilateral meeting format and within the framework of the sessions. We will definitely respond to all the negative messages coming from our radical opposition, which, in some cases, are supported by politicians”, Bitadze said.
This year’s OSCE Parliamentary Assembly session is being hosted in Porto, bringing together leaders and parliamentarians to address ongoing global and regional challenges.
