Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, addressing Parliament in his annual report, on Friday stressed that his Government would adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption, calling it the central principle in forming a new team within the executive branch.
“We will be absolutely uncompromising when it comes to corruption. This is the main criterion in selecting the new team in the Government of Georgia”, the Prime Minister said.
Kobakhidze outlined two core standards for personnel decisions within the government - integrity and professional competence, with a strong emphasis on the former.
“Integrity is paramount. In general, when it comes to staffing decisions, two key criteria are prioritized - integrity and expertise. But integrity remains the top priority. You can gain knowledge and develop professionally, but if you lack honesty and a principled approach to your work, then professionalism means nothing”, he explained.
The Prime Minister added that this emphasis on integrity would play a vital role in achieving significant progress across government institutions.
