During his annual report to Parliament, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday said attracting foreign investment was crucial for the country's continued economic development.
In his address, Kobakhidze highlighted his Government's active work in this area over the past year, pointing to the substantial investment from Emaar, an Emirati multinational real estate development company, as a significant achievement.
“For the further development of the economy, we need to attract investments, and active work has been carried out in this regard over the past year. One of the most impressive achievements in this regard was the Arab - Emaar - investment, which will be injected into our country over the next five years”, the Prime Minister said.
“This is a project worth $6 billion, an investment that will be implemented in Georgia. This investment will further contribute to the development of our economy. We need even more such projects in order to accelerate the pace of economic growth as much as possible”, he concluded.
