Parliament Vice Speaker says EU integration Georgia’s top foreign policy priority

Giorgi Kakhiani, the Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, on Thursday said the integration into the European Union was the main direction of Georgia's foreign policy, and that everything was being done in this regard.

In his interview with Imedi TV, Kakhiani noted that he believes, in the end, a rational approach would prevail and lead to positive results.

“Of course, it is unpleasant to witness such an unfair attitude from our Western partners, but I think by now everyone can see that this has no real effect on the population in Georgia. People have come to understand what we are truly dealing with. Now that the elections are approaching, I am certain that such statements or resolutions - aimed at strengthening the radical opposition - will become more frequent”, he noted.
