Nino Tsilosani, an MP for the ruling Georgian Dream party and Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, on Thursday responded strongly to the upcoming debate on Georgia at today’s session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Tsilosani criticised what she described as a wave of "unfair and misleading statements, debates, and resolutions" targeting Georgia, claiming their true purpose was to intimidate and blackmail the country.
She further stressed that the goal of these processes was to turn the country into a “colony”.
“If we ask why there are so many unjust and disinformation statements, debates, and resolutions being made and adopted, the answer is clear: we are being blackmailed - our country is being blackmailed”, the Parliament official noted.
“Each and every citizen is being frightened with the prospect of losing the benefits we have fairly achieved, such as visa liberalisation. This is ultimately an attempt to turn Georgia into a colony, under the subordination of people who present themselves as superior to us”, she concluded.
