Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday said that the domestic opposition would suffer a heavy defeat in the upcoming local elections and it was essential for the uninterrupted development of the country and each municipality.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze noted that the internal conflict within the radical opposition was an indicator that the opposition was extremely weakened.
“The conflict within the radical opposition is a clear sign that the opposition is extremely weakened. The public sees how weak the opposition has become. They were brought to this state by their own patrons. In such situations, the degree of internal conflict increases, and they are unable to form a clear strategy regarding the local self-government elections”, the PM said.
“For us, it makes no difference, in either case, the opposition will suffer a heavy defeat. This is essential for the uninterrupted development of our country and each municipality”, he concluded.
