Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Tuesday said the Russian occupation was the country’s greatest challenge, and that through pragmatic policies, everything had to be done to regain the lost territories.
In his remarks following the release of the State Security Service’s annual report, Kaladze noted that Georgia must do everything through pragmatic policies to regain its territories.
“I don’t know of a single person in this country who loves their homeland and does not consider the territorial integrity of Georgia to be the number one priority. Today, unfortunately, a certain part of our territory is occupied, which is a major challenge for the country. With our pragmatic policy, we must do everything we can - with wisdom, professionalism, intelligence, strength, and economic development - to regain our territories”, Kaladze said.
He also spoke about attempts to stage revolutions in Georgia with external funding and highlighted the effective work of the relevant agencies.
“As for the attempts to stage revolutions, unfortunately, we have seen numerous examples of it. It should be noted that these were attempts at a coup d'état carried out directly through foreign interference and foreign funding, which the relevant services managed to prevent through their proper functioning”, he concluded.
