Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Friday criticised a recent post by the EU Delegation to Georgia, warning that such gestures may promote further violence.
In a social media post, Papuashvili responded to a solidarity message published by the EU Embassy in Georgia which shared a photo of EU Ambassador Paweł Herczyński and activist Turadze, expressing support for Mzia Amaghlobeli - a protest participant who slapped a police officer while the officer was carrying out official duties.
“Expressing solidarity with violence incites further violence”, Papuashvili wrote.
