In response to a journalist’s question regarding the opposition’s visit to Brussels, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka BotchoriShvili on Wednesday said the Government was focused on delivering tangible results rather than engaging in political theatrics.
“The Government is responding to the opposition’s activism with real work. Our focus is on creating conditions for stable development in Georgia, fostering economic growth, and ensuring that our citizens have better opportunities to live and thrive in their own country”, the FM said.
Commenting on the opposition’s presence in Brussels, the Foreign Minister drew a sharp comparison, suggesting it resembled a summons for new instructions from European bureaucracies.
“This looks more like being called to Brussels to receive new directives on how to act going forward. What we are seeing is coordinated action from the opposition and political activists, and it is very likely that they will return with fresh instructions, which will guide their actions in the near future”, Botchorishvili concluded.
