David Matikashvili, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules, on Wednesday said the Georgian Government was ready to do “much more” in its strategic partnership with the United States than had been done to date.
“It is important that Georgia will have an ambassador to the United States. The agrément that [Tamar] Taliashvili received from the Trump administration speaks precisely to this”, the Parliament official said.
“We are ready to do much more in our strategic partnership with America than has been done to date. This relationship should be true, real, well-defined, and serve as a guide so that both nations and countries truly receive not only mutual support but also the benefits that come from this relationship. Naturally, Georgia's new ambassador will do absolutely everything for this”, he concluded.
