Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said Georgia had “absolutely fulfilled all requirements” for Euro-Atlantic integration. However, he acknowledged that discussions on enlargement have been paused from the other side, specifically regarding NATO membership.
Speaking to Georgian journalists, Kobakhidze conveyed that NATO representatives have made it clear they do not intend to consider the membership of either Ukraine or Georgia in the medium-term.
“In terms of Euro-Atlantic integration, Georgia has done absolutely everything, but you also know that on the other side, talks on enlargement have been suspended”, the PM said.
“The current situation is as follows: NATO representatives clearly state that they do not intend to discuss the membership of Ukraine and Georgia in the medium term either. This is the current situation, and we will see how processes develop from here”, he concluded.
