At the Conservative Political Action Conference in Budapest, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday said although the country's soul had been tested by many wars and centuries of occupation, Georgia remained unbroken.
In his address, Kobakhidze expressed Georgian’s pride for being a Christian nation, adding that his Government would do its best to protect it as when a nation lost its national identity and faith, it lost itself.
He further added that everybody should praise the Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orbán for his brave and uncompromised fight for Hungary’s freedom and national interests.
“It is a great honor to stand before you today - here in Hungary, a country that has stood tall in defense of its sovereignty and identity. Everybody should praise the distinguished Prime Minister of Hungary, Mr. Viktor Orbán, for his brave and uncompromised fight for Hungary’s freedom and national interests. We - Georgians - are particularly praising him for his invaluable support to Georgia and our nation’s European path. Thank you for this, Mr. Orbán”, the PM said.
“I bring you the voice of Georgia - a country that has stood firm at the crossroads of empires for over 3000 years; a country that became one of the first Christian nations in the world. Georgia’s soul has been tested by many wars and centuries of occupation. And yet, we remain unbroken. We remain Georgian. We are proud of our Christianity, and we do our best to protect it. Because we know: when a nation loses its national identity and faith, it loses itself”, he concluded.
