Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday said the domestic opposition's public support was “zero”, citing dismal attendance at recent rallies.
In his interview with the Georgian Public Broadcasting, Kobakhidze noted that despite calls for maximum mobilisation, only 3 000 people gathered yesterday, a number that plummeted to a mere 150 today on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi.
The Prime Minister asserted that such negligible support was leaving the opposition with “no resources whatsoever”.
“The opposition parties themselves are completely fragmented, and everyone sees this. They even have internal conflicts now”, Kobakhidze remarked.
He highlighted the low turnout, contrasting it with what he called the opposition’s self-proclaimed “Georgian people” representation.
