Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, who is participating in the European Political Community (EPC) Summit in Tirana, on Friday emphasised Georgia's vital role in the South Caucasus region, particularly in advancing regional peace and major connectivity projects linking the region with Europe.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze highlighted the country’s strategic importance in the South Caucasus and its commitment to fostering peace and regional cooperation.
“Georgia holds a key role in the South Caucasus region. Throughout the years, we have made a positive contribution to strengthening peace in the region, and going forward, we will continue to act in this spirit”, Kobakhidze said.
The Prime Minister underscored Georgia’s involvement in vital regional infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity between neighbouring countries and the European Union.
“We are linking two neighbouring countries - Azerbaijan and Armenia - with Europe. Georgia is also carrying out very significant projects, in collaboration with neighbouring states, aimed at enhancing connectivity. I believe this is very important for Europe, for the European Union, and for connecting the EU with our region. We are fully open to cooperation in this direction. This includes the Black Sea underwater cable project and other initiatives that improve connectivity. We will continue to be actively engaged in implementing such projects in the future”, he concluded.
