Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, who is participating in the European Political Community (EPC) Summit in Tirana, on Friday said that European leaders were increasingly recognising the importance of engaging in dialogue with Georgia and its Government.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze emphasised that Georgia was playing a vital role in Europe’s regional and strategic architecture.
“There had been some limitations in communication, and it seems that our European partners grew eager to reengage with Georgia. Everyone must understand that Georgia has a very important role for Europe, specifically for the European Union. Our role in the region is crucial”, Kobakhidze said.
The Prime Minister suggested that this growing recognition was reflected in the fact that dialogue initiatives were increasingly proposed by European leaders themselves.
“Ultimately, everyone realises that dialogue with Georgia and with the leaders of the Georgian Government is necessary and perhaps this is reflected in the fact that initiatives often come from European leaders themselves”, he concluded.
