Vladimir Bozhadze, the First Deputy Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, has publicly accused US lawmaker Joe Wilson of corruption and a long-standing anti-Georgian stance.
Speaking to journalists about the MEGOBARI Act, Bozhadze stated that “you know that Joe Wilson, who has long been known for his hostility towards Georgia, speaks about the corruption of others while making statements and presenting bills funded by the corrupt Kezerashvili [the wanted former official under UNM Gov’t]”.
Bozhadze further revealed that an even more severe bill had been introduced a year prior, indicating a continuation of trends from the previous US administration.
“Of course, this decision, including the Senate's and potentially President Trump's, could serve as a litmus test for relations with Georgia”, the official said.
Bozhadze also alluded to broader political dynamics, stating that “again, of course, President Trump himself speaks about the global war party and the deep state. It is our great desire that President Trump prevails”.
