Alexander Tabatadze, the Chair of the Defence and Security Committee of the Georgian Parliament, on Tuesday commented on the 2024 report published by the State Security Service of Georgia, by saying that all attempts by external forces to destabilise the situation in the country were promptly suppressed and averted.
Tabatadze’s comments came after the Georgian State Security Service on Tuesday said a certain group of individuals was plotting to instigate civil unrest and destabilization in the country, with the ultimate goal of violently overthrowing the Government.
“Of course, there are many attempts [at unrest], but today the state, together with its law enforcement agencies and the State Security Service, performs its duties in a highly qualified and professional manner, and all attempts by external forces were promptly suppressed and averted”, the Parliament Committee Chair said.
