Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Sunday highlighted Georgia’s impressive economic growth over the past four years, noting that the country’s economy has more than doubled in US dollar terms.
In his interview with Imedi TV, Kobakhidze noted that this economic growth had led to the creation of additional jobs and an increase in average wages.
“Over the past four years, Georgia has experienced remarkable economic growth, with the country’s economy doubling in dollar terms”, the PM stressed.
He further added that Georgia ranked among the top three countries globally in terms of economic development projections.
“Over the past three years, 195,000 new jobs have been created in Georgia, significantly boosting the employment rate and doubling the average wage. Our goal is linked to the development of the country’s GDP, and the International Monetary Fund’s forecast is very optimistic. In terms of economic development projections, we are ranked among the world’s leading nations. By 2030, Georgia’s GDP per capita will reach $13,500, meaning the country will transition into the ranks of high-income countries”, Kobakhidze said.
The PM claimed that Georgia aims to become fully self-sufficient in electricity production by 2030, a goal he considers easily achievable.
“Social policies will continue to evolve alongside economic development, with expanded and improved packages to support this progress”, he concluded.
