A recent prank call by Russian pranksters Vovan and Lexus, posing as former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and chess grandmaster Garry Kasparov, has revealed insights into the financial challenges faced by the Georgian opposition.
During the call, the former Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili stated that the opposition was facing a critical shortage of funds.
Zourabichvili indicated that financial support had primarily come from USAID and certain European foundations.
She explained that European funding had been slow, with promises of redirected funds from suspended Government programs yet to materialise.
