Archil Gorduladze, the Chair of the Parliament's Legal Affairs Committee, on Thursday said the deep state was making significant efforts to involve Georgia in a proxy war, aiming to bring the devastating effects of war to the country.
“Unfortunately, the deep state is making every effort to ensure that our country is directly involved in this proxy war, bringing the disaster and destruction of war to our land. We do not want this, and, naturally, neither do the Georgian people. This is why they have supported us in the elections”, Gorduladze said.
He also addressed the issue of sanctions against the Vice Prime Minister, judges, and other officials, noting that sanctions have not decreased on the backdrop of the Donald Trump administration's fight against the deep state.
“The founder of our party Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili has also been sanctioned by the deep state, and these sanctions have not been reduced, which is very unfortunate”, Gorduladze concluded.
